On Sunday, January 8, 2012 the Folgaria plateau hosts the first official race of the Autodrive Ski Cup circuit, thanks to the collaboration of Club Alpino Edelweiss, FolgarìaSki and Scie di Passione. It is not just a simple race but an interweaving of several skiing formats that, in an extraordinary way, bring together different levels of difficulty, including those of both able-bodied and disabled skiers.
Things get under way at 9 a.m. on the Agonistica piste with the first leg of the Autodrive Disabled Cup, that is, the Pro Cup reserved for all athletes with different disabilities registered with the Federation. The giant slalom race is competitive and awards points based precisely on the different characteristics of the participants. It is part of the initiatives of Scie di Passione, the ambitious project that aims to give everyone, regardless of psychological, physical or motor differences, the chance to experience the mountains and practice snow sports. It is an offshoot of the Snowsports Academy of San Marino, which opened its base at Alpe di Folgaria-Coe starting in December 2011.
