Alta Quota 2013, the Mountain Fair turns 10

Alta Quota 2013

Alta Quota is the unmissable event for all lovers of the mountains and outdoor sports; this year, after years of great runs, Alta Quota reaches the important milestone of its first ten editions. The fair dedicated to mountain tourism and sports will return from Friday, October 11 (grand opening at 4:30 PM) to Sunday, October 13 (closing at 8:00 PM).
Admission to the Fair will be free again this year—an extraordinary initiative that last year introduced so many people to the world of the mountains. The trade show caters to the diverse needs of mountain enthusiasts eager to shop for the latest in apparel and gear and keen to try their hand at the various outdoor sports disciplines that are right at home at Alta Quota.

What’s new at Alta Quota 2013

  • Several tourist destinations well known to enthusiasts are making their debut at Alta Quota: the ski areas of Friuli Venezia Giulia, Val Senales, and Plan de Corones. This further expands Alta Quota’s already rich offering of products, services, hotels, and tourist resorts.
  • Interregional slacklining competition. A fun-filled new entry at Alta Quota: the dynamic balance exercise named after the slackline—a flat, usually polyester webbing tensioned between two points along which athletes must walk, strictly unassisted.
  • Alta Quota will dedicate an evening to the Bergamo mountaineers who reached the roof of the world: Mount Everest.

22,500 square meters dedicated to the mountains across sport, tourism, and culture.

Free access is not limited to admission alone, but extends to all the many sports disciplines in the outdoor area. The centerpiece will be the lively, dynamic Outdoor Events area, allowing visitors to try out numerous activities completely free of charge.
Launch off a ramp on skis or a snowboard and land safely on the huge “Big Air Bag”, test yourself on the running course or on mountain bikes, take to the ice skating rink (with real ice skates on a synthetic gliding surface) and the beginner ski slope, or discover the increasingly popular disciplines of Nordic walking and slacklining.
