Mera’s Cup, the 15th edition of “La Bobbata” at Alpe di Mera

bobbata alpe di meraEvery year in Valsesia a unique competition takes place on the snow, where the competitors are not ski or snowboard champions, but sledding enthusiasts—and not on Olympic bobsleds, but on simple, traditional plastic kids’ bobsleds.
This original race is officially known as the Mera’s Cup, and unofficially as “La Bobbata dell’Alpe di Mera.” On the slopes of the Alpe di Mera ski resort, daredevils will once again line up in 2013 for a fun-filled showdown.

The 15th edition of the Mera’s Cup kicks off on Saturday, March 9 with twenty close-knit teams: two hundred fearless participants divided into ladies’, senior, and junior categories will vie for the title and the coveted trophy in a thrilling two-kilometer downhill race along the ski slopes of Alpe di Mera.

A rush of adrenaline, an all-day celebration, and an unforgettable experience of fun on the snow. At the end of the race, an awards aperitif will honor the winners and top rookies, accompanied by a prize raffle. Finally, after a delicious traditional dinner at local restaurants, the event will wrap up with a big party.

Race registration has already closed as all spots are sold out, but anyone wishing to check for last-minute availability can contact the organizers at info@alpedimera.it
