Skiing in the Engadin: Ski lifts open from October 20 on Diavolezza

Skiing at Diavolezza

skiing on diavolezzaIn the Engadin St. Moritz ski area, autumn is already in full swing and thoughts are turning to skiing. On Diavolezza, reachable by cable car from the Bernina Pass, the opening of the first ski lifts is scheduled as early as October 20!

Thanks to the geotextile sheets that covered the glacier over the summer to preserve the snow, the red slope descending from Sass Queder (3,066 m) will be in prime skiable condition. A golden opportunity for those who cannot wait to carve their first turns, as well as for ski clubs busy with training.
Specifically for ski clubs, there is a special offer that includes accommodation at the All In One Hotel Inn Lodge in Celerina, full board (with lunches at high altitude), and a reserved training lane starting from 85 CHF per night (around 70 euros). The offer is valid from October 20 to November 23 and, naturally, includes the ski pass as well.

For those who simply want to enjoy a great day on the skis, the ski pass costs 62 CHF (around 50 euros; youth aged 13–17: 42 CHF – 34 euros; afternoon pass: 37 CHF – 30 euros).

Once again this year, the Engadin will be one of the first ski areas to open the season: snowfalls in recent weeks have brought fresh snow at high altitude, and further snowfalls and below-average temperatures are forecast for the coming weeks—ideal for preparing the slopes ahead of the start of the season.
