Abundant snow has arrived on the mountains of Trentino, which are now preparing for an imminent start to the season. After a long wait and widespread fear of having to postpone the start of the season even further, snow has finally arrived even below 1,000 meters, completely transforming the landscape and plunging the entire region into the heart of winter.

Here in Trentino, snow is a vital ingredient since the tourism sector, particularly ski tourism, is the cornerstone of the economy in countless valleys.
The snowfalls brought up to a meter of snow (see snow report) at high altitude and around 20-30 cm of snow at medium-low altitudes—a crucial weather system that in recent hours has been replaced by a flow of freezing air from the East, bringing biting cold that greatly helps consolidate the snowpack.

This snowfall has allowed many ski resorts to open their doors; while some still face a delayed start to the season, others are bringing it forward, and on Saturday, November 30, lift openings are scheduled across almost the entire region, with plenty of ski resorts ready to welcome thousands of skiers back to the slopes.

The ski areas ready at the starting gate are Madonna di Campiglio, Paganella Ski, Val di Fiemme, Obereggen, San Martino di Castrozza and Passo Rolle, Folgarida and Marilleva, Monte Bondone, and Passo Brocon (Ski Lagorai).

Ensuring a great start to the season are not only the centimeters of natural snow, but also artificial snow, which is currently being produced in large quantities by the programmed snowmaking systems installed on most of the slopes in Trentino. Artificial snow is a key part of the start of the season, and it is thanks to this blend of nature and technology that Trentino will be able to offer hundreds of kilometers of slopes right from the first day of December.
